St Bartholomew's Project
This was a fantastic project I worked on in August 2007. The Neighbourhood Wardens, the Local Council, the Community Police Officers and St Bartholomew's Church in Huyton, ran a week of events to tidy up the local area. It just so happened that the wardens got wind of the fact I just set up my business, and asked me to touch up an existing mural and paint two new murals, one in the subway at Roby Train Station and one at the rear of St Bartholomew's Church. It also just so happens that I live in the area as well, so I jumped at the chance to give something back to my community.
While the wardens, police, council workers and some volunteers worked tirelessly cutting back hedges and picking litter to improve our environment, myself and a few other volunteers were stuck in a subway for two days. The results were amazing, I must thank all of the volunteers for all their help, if it wasn't for them, it would have took me a couple of months to finish, not three days! Then, as the paint was still to dry in the subway, we all started on the wall at the rear of the church, painting flowers all over the wall. Which looks a dam site better than all of the graffiti that was on it before we started.
