Hello, my name is Ian, I am the artist! Now, what you're probably expecting from a mural artist is for me to tell you how long I've been muralling, where I studied Art, and how many qualifications I have in art or graphic design. This won't take long!

I have been muralling since....July 2007. I didn't study art, I got a C in my Art GCSE. Done!

Doesn't sound like I'm very good does it? I'm not one for blowing my own trumpet, so I'll let my portfolio do my talking for me. I have always been a talented artist, but have never applied myself. It's only been fairly recently since I decided to go in to business that I've realised how well I can paint! Just goes to show you kids, if you apply yourself, anything is possible! Apply yourself in school! If I'd have done that, I would have got to this stage a lot quicker!

Enough of that, I'll tell you a bit about myself. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, making cards for family members, most of the cards I've made for my grandparents, they've still got! I've mainly been a cartoonist until now, drawing simple cartoons for people. At the age of 14 I drew a cartoon parrot for my local barbers, which he gave me a fiver for, I bought a few sweets with that probably! It wasn't until I was 18, when I produced a pricelist for him, that I was informed of the fact that my dad was getting free haircuts for years!! Because of the work I had done!!!

Since then I've done a few drawing for the NHS, but nothing major. I started working for the local government when I was 18, and have produced quite a lot of posters, leaflets, adverts, displays, the list goes on. (For no extra pay!)

I must mention that I am not a full time mural artist, I do work full time. This is a part time hobby, which I just happen to get paid for. By day, I am a mild mannered Environmental Education Officer, teaching the children of Knowsley (Merseyside) to recycle their rubbish and encouraging them to be Environmental Super Heroes. By night, I become SUPER MURAL MAN!!!

Why have I started my own business? Well, a few years back, my mother was looking through a catalogue for a toybox for my niece and she said I could make one, as I'm quite skilled at woodwork as well. I made the toybox and painted Disney characters all over it, I was shocked at the result! You can see photo's on the portfolio page.

Then, in 2005 my darling daughter, the light of my life was born. I had decided before she was born that I was going to turn her room into the hundred acre wood, I did, and yet again, I was surprised at how good it was. Since then numerous people have told me "You should go into business", I didn't listen.

Then somebody (you know who you are) told me to set up a business and produce posters for people. I don't really like doing posters too  much, I sit at a desk enough in work! So now I paint murals, and the rest is history!

Hope you've enjoyed the little insight into my life, I must stop now, otherwise you'll fall asleep! Anyway, I hope you like the website, and I especially hope you like my artwork. Free quotations are available, just go to the contacts page to find out about it.
